Lecture Series: Preservation Maryland’s Project Documenting the LGBTQ+ Spaces in Maryland

Ben Egerman will discuss Preservation Maryland’s project documenting the LGBTQ+ spaces in Maryland. Mr. Egerman lives and works in Baltimore, where he works at the central Enoch Pratt Free Library. While receiving his Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Maryland, he provided underlying research to Preservation Maryland’s LGBTQ+ Heritage initiative, creating a survey of 300 geotagged locations relevant to LGBTQ+ history, culture, and community. Since graduating, he has spoken on subjects regarding local LGBTQ+ history at multiple libraries and for student groups in the Baltimore area.
